Multimedia Techniques in Teaching of Foreigners

PRACTICAL CLASSES:
- safety of computer information, rules for creating copies of the documents, updating operating system and programs, using the antivirus program
- using the word processing program Word for Windows (advanced level), program configuration, being well acquainted with text transformations, automating of writing and fonts and their formatting, introducing specific signs and signs from foreign alphabets, text corrections, combination of text and computer graphics
- searching for information in the Internet, Internet news services for Polish teachers: encyclopedias, dictionaries, language counseling service, text corpus, text collections
- presentation of coursebooks and books that contain video cassettes (every level of learning Polish language), getting to know the content of the books and video cassette, lesson and video scene shape (e.g. still breaks that allow phrase repetition, songs, collection of phrases connected with the topic of the scene); types of exercises, rules for introducing and doing listening comprehension
- practical use of video cassettes during Polish language classes – possibilities and methods (presentation of School of polish Language and Culture teaching materials)
- presentation of computer programs used to teach Polish as a foreign language; useful for the teacher: Notable Collection of Polish Literary Works, Lexicon of Polish Feature Films, encyclopedias and computer dictionaries used to teach writing, grammar, phraseology; program operating and using; practical possibilities to use computer during Polish classes with foreigners
- sound material presentation in the form of CDs and cassette tapes added to the coursebooks at every level
- description of the types of exercises used in the coursebooks depending on the level of language proficiency
- rules for introducing and doing listening comprehension tasks
- practical use of sound materials in the teaching process (presentation of the lesson with the use of sound material)
- ability to choose proper authentic texts (interviews, songs)
