Polish Language Course for Foreigners Planning to Study in Polish language

The course is designed for foreigners planning to study the humanities in Poland, in the Polish language. It is designed both for people who do not speak Polish and those who need to improve proficiency in Polish to begin their studies. The aim of the course is to prepare the candidates in their oral and written skills to meet the requirements of higher education in Poland.

The course consists of two kinds of classes. One is focused on general language skills, while the other develops specialized vocabulary, depending on the choice of students. The School does not offer any University Preparation Courses in the chosen field, however in the second semester the School can – if it is possible – help to arrange students’ participation in seminars and lectures at the chosen faculty as a part of the language training.

The course begins in October and lasts two semesters: from October to the end of January and from the middle of February to the end of June. The course covers 960 hours. The first type of classes focused on general language skills covers 600 hours. The second type of classes focused on developing specialized vocabulary covers 240 hours.

The classes take place five days a week, 6 schools hours (45 minutes) every day. Students must pass end-if-the-term tests in the end of each semester. To receive certificates of course completion students must pass the final test. The certificate of course completion is a document assessing students’ knowledge of Polish language.
