12th International Conference for Graduate Students, 14.05.2024

Respected Sir or Madam,
We are happy to invite you to participate in the 12th International Conference for Graduate Students which will be held online on May 14th 2024. The conference is organized by the units of the University of Sielsia in Katowice – School of Polish Language and Culture, Faculty of Human Studies, Center of Chinese Language and Culture, „Babel Tower” Scientific Club, and educational platform Polska Półka Filmowa. Conference participation is free of charge. This event is implemented as a part of celebrations of European City of Science Katowice 2024 in a range: City-Region-Academia.
The aim of the meeting is to unable graduate students, bachelor students who are over average in their year and doctoral students to present parts of their works or issues connected with them. We encourage to participate both foreign and Polish students from your universities.
We want to call the coming conference „Boarder– civilization, culture, language” and want to devote it to the issues connected with determinants, causative agents and indicators of the border. This topic will be presented during the conference as wide as possible (we will mention former and contemporary determinants of the border, its interpretation in new contexts not only humane ones). Foreign students may present their point of view on Polish literature, culture and language and Polish students can present intercultural aspects. Katowice’s meetings are a wonderful opportunity for interesting discussions in international circles together with specialists: linguists, culture and literature experts.
Participants of previous editions were students of the University of Silesia and other academic centers both in the country (e.g. University of Wroclaw, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun) and abroad (University of Bologna, Belarussian National University, Ivan Franko National University in Lviv, Federal State University of Parana in Curitiba). In the conference also took part students of other universities like academies of art or technical. We hope this year’s meeting will become a forum for the exchange of foreigner’s and Polish students’ experience connected with the border. We will be grateful for popularizing this information among students of your universities.
Students eager to participate in the conference we offer substantive and technical help during logging for the meeting platform. Participants of the conference will get certificates and souvenirs – we want our meeting to become the field of creating interesting national and international bonds.
